Pazo de Sedor mansion in Castañeda

Castañeda is a place on the Way of St. James in the province of A Coruña in the autonomous region of Galicia in Spain , administratively it is dependent on Arzúa .

Aimeric Picaud mentions Castañeda in Jacob's book as the location of the kilns that burned the lime for the cathedral construction of Santiago de Compostela . The pilgrims of St. James used their physical strength to transport the stones from Triacastela , where one of the few Galician limestone quarries is located, to Castañeda.

The local parish church is dedicated to the Virgin Mary .
