Villares de Órbigo is a small town on the Camino de Santiago in the province of León in the autonomous community of Castile and León .
The parish church of the village is dedicated to the apostle Jacob , whose figure in the representation as Matamoros ( Moors slayer ) is the center of the altar.
The most important branch of the village is agriculture. The proximity to the Río Órbigo allows irrigation of the cultivated areas, where mainly garlic, onions, leeks and peppers can be found.
