Ambasmestas is a place on the Camino de Santiago in the province of León in the Autonomous Community of Castile and León , administratively it is dependent on Vega de Valcarce .
The place name refers to the confluence of the rivers Valcarce and Balboa. In the municipality are the remains of a Roman highway.
