San Miguel del Camino is a place on the Camino de Santiago in the province of León in the autonomous community of Castile and León . Administratively he is dependent on Valverde de la Virgen .
It is located on the western edge of the central Spanish table country , which is called Páramo Leonés here . The national road N-120 runs through the village as the main road.
From the 12th century, the place had a pilgrims' hostel, the complex as a street village and a figure of the apostle James in the church (exhibited today in León) point to the close integration of the place with the Camino de Santiago.
The parish church is consecrated to Saint Lucia , the patronage festival takes place accordingly on December 13th every year.
The local golf course gained supraregional importance in 1999, when the Spanish golf championships were held here, and in 2004, as one of the venues for the Peugeot Tour de España.
