Calzada del Coto is a small town on the Camino de Santiago in the province of León in the Autonomous Community of Castile and León .

The name of the village can already be found in the oldest documents of the Sahagún monastery and refers to the Way of St. James ( Calzata = way, road ). There are no more traces of a hamlet called Zacharias (Villa Zacharias), which is mentioned as being connected to the place.

The village church is dedicated to St. Stephen .
