Ligonde is a place on the edge of the Camino de Santiago . It is located in the province of A Coruña of the Autonomous Community of Galicia in Spain , administratively it is dependent on Monterroso .
On the basis of street directories ( itineraries ) and pilgrim guides, the history of the place can be traced back to the 10th century. A pilgrims' hospice was also occupied until 1753.
Worth seeing
- Pilgrim Cemetery (Cementerio de peregrinos).
- Kreuzstock (Cruceiro de Ligonde), dated 1670 and shows a Pietà on one side and Christ on the cross with a skull at his feet on the other. The Cruceiro is one of the most famous on the Camino Francés.
