The Alto do Poio is a pass at an altitude of 1337 meters on the Camino de Santiago near Padornelo in the province of Lugo in the autonomous community of Galicia in Spain .
Because of the strategic relevance of the place, the Order of St. John maintained a commandery and the church of Santa Maria here. Today there is a chapel dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary at Alto do Poio , as well as a restaurant and an accommodation facility, which is mainly used by pilgrims.
