Valverde de la Virgen is a municipality on the Camino de Santiago in the province of León in the autonomous community of Castile and León .
history
The place was first mentioned in the 10th century. The place name used to be Valverde del Camino and, like that of other villages in the area, referred to the Way of St. James, while today the Virgen del Camino in the pilgrimage site of the same name is the reference point.
