Truchas is a North Spanish municipality and a town ( municipio ) with 443 inhabitants (at January 1, 2019) in the province of León in the autonomous community of Castile and Leon .

location

The place Truchas is located on the banks of the Eria river at an altitude of about 1120 meters above sea level. d. M. The distance to Benavente is about 90 kilometers (driving distance) in a south-easterly direction; Ponferrada is about 50 kilometers north. The community, which is comparatively large in area, consists of a further twelve localities or hamlets: Baillo, Corporales, La Cuesta, Cunas, Iruela, Manzaneda, Pozos, Quintanilla de Yuso, Truchillas, Valdavido, Villar del Monte and Villarino .
