Ahrue Luster (born September 17, 1968 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American guitarist . He was a member of the band Ill Niño and was previously a. a. active with machine head .

Career

Luster gained his first experience in the bands Horde of Torment and Manmade God before joining Machine Head in 1998. With Machine Head he recorded the albums The Burning Red and Supercharger . In 2002 he left Machine Head due to creative differences. According to Machine Head singer Robb Flynn , Luster wanted to push the band in a “cheerful, melodic direction à la Incubus ”, which the rest of the musicians did not agree with.

Luster then became a member of Ill Niño until he left the band together with Cristian Machado and Diego Verduzco, after the dispute over the band name with drummer Dave Chavarri in March 2020.
