(1022) Olympiada is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 23. June 1924 by the Russian astronomer Vladimir Alexandrovich Albizki the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory in simeiz was discovered.

The asteroid is dedicated to the Olympic Games that were taking place in Paris , France at the time of its discovery .

The orbit has a semi-major axis of 2.8078 astronomical units and an orbital eccentricity of 0.1712. Thus it moves at a distance of 2.3272 ( perihelion ) to 3.2884 ( aphelion ) astronomical units in 4.705 a around the sun . The orbit is inclined at 21.063 ° to the ecliptic .
