(13560) La Perouse is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 2 September 1992 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory ( observatory code 809) of the European Southern Observatory in Chile was discovered.

The asteroid is named after the French navigator , circumnavigator and geographer Jean-François de La Pérouse (1741–1788), who explored large parts of the Pacific and its East Asian tributaries from 1785 to 1788 .
