(14846) Lampedusa is an asteroid of the main belt , which on January 29 in 1989 at the Observatory San Vittore ( IAU code 552) in Bologna was discovered.

The asteroid was named on January 9, 2001 after the Italian writer and literary scholar Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa (1896–1957), who was best known for his novel Il Gattopardo .
