(21539) Josefhlávka is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on August 20, 1998 by the Czech astronomer Petr Pravec at the Ondřejov observatory ( IAU code 557) on Manda Mountain in Ondřejov in the Czech Republic .

The asteroid was named on February 19, 2006 after the Czech architect and patron Josef Hlávka (1831–1908) who, as one of the most prominent contractors of the Vienna Ringstrasse era , built the Lazarist Church and the Palais Erzherzog Wilhelm (Deutschmeisterpalais) in the 1880s founded the Czech Academy of Sciences .
