(22136) James Harrison is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 1 November 2000 by the Canadian astronomers William Kwong Yu Yeung at Desert Beaver Observatory ( IAU code 919) in Arizona was discovered.
On November 25, 2015, the asteroid was named after the Australian blood donor James Christopher Harrison (* 1936), who donated blood and plasma over a thousand times, saving the lives of more than two million unborn children suffering from Rhesus incompatibility .
