(2458) Veniakaverin is an asteroid of the main belt , which was discovered on September 11, 1977 by the Russian astronomer Nikolai Stepanowitsch Tschernych at the Crimean Observatory in Nautschnyj ( IAU code 095).
The asteroid was named after the Soviet writer Weniamin Alexandrowitsch Kawerin (1902-1989), who was a co-founder of the literary group of the Serapion Brothers .
