(2604) Marshak is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on June 13, 1972 by the Russian astronomer Tamara Mikhailovna Smirnova at the Crimean Observatory ( IAU code 095) in Nautschnyj .

The asteroid was named after the Russian writer Samuil Jakowlewitsch Marschak , who was best known for his children's literature and translations of Shakespeare's sonnets .
