(2824) Franke ( 1934 CZ ; 1929 UH ; 1943 QB ; 1950 OB ; 1950 PU ; 1982 QE ) is an asteroid of the inner main belt , which was sent to the German (then Nazi state ) astronomer Karl Wilhelm Reinmuth on February 4, 1934 the State Observatory Heidelberg-Königstuhl was discovered on the western summit of the Königstuhl near Heidelberg ( IAU code 024).

(2824) Franke was named after Ernst H. Franke who was professor of biophysics at the University of Cincinnati .
