(2875) Lagerkvist is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 11 February 1983 by the American astronomer Edward LG Bowell at the Anderson Mesa Station ( IAU code 688) of the Lowell Observatory in Coconino County was discovered.
The asteroid was named after the Swedish astronomer Claes-Ingvar Lagerkvist , who works as a professor of astronomy at Uppsala University and was director of the Kvistaberg observatory from 1999 to 2007 .
