(29212) Zeeman is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on September 10, 1991 by the German astronomer Freimut Börngen at the Thuringian state observatory in Tautenburg ( IAU code 033) in Thuringia .

The celestial body is a member of the Koronis family, a group of asteroids named after (158) Koronis.

The asteroid was named on May 26, 2002 after the Dutch physicist Pieter Zeeman (1865-1943), who studied the influence of magnetism on radiation phenomena and was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1902 together with Hendrik Antoon Lorentz .
