(3590) Holst is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 5 February 1984 of US astronomers Edward LG Bowell at the Anderson Mesa Station ( IAU code 688) of the Lowell Observatory in Coconino County was discovered.

The asteroid was named after the English composer Gustav Holst (1874–1934), who became famous for his orchestral suite The Planets .
