(44530) Horáková is an asteroid of the central main belt , which was discovered on December 25, 1998 by the Czech astronomer couple Jana Tichá and Miloš Tichý at the Kle Observ Observatory ( IAU code 046) near Český Krumlov . An unconfirmed sighting of the asteroid had already taken place at the Kleť Observatory on July 21 and 24, 1985 under the provisional name 1985 ON.

The asteroid belongs to the Eunomia family, a group named after (15) Eunomia , to which probably five percent of the asteroids in the main belt belong. The timeless (non- osculating ) orbital elements of (44530) Horáková are almost identical to those of the smaller one, assuming the absolute brightness of 16.6 compared to 13.0, asteroids (283349) 1999 VG 55 .

A representation of the light curve of (44530) Horáková was attempted on September 17, 2010 by René Roy at the Geneva observatory in collaboration with Pere Antoni Salom and Mateu Esteban from the observatory in Caimari ( Mallorca ). However, no usable data could be obtained, since the data either indicated a very slowly rotating asteroid and during the observed period no complete revolution or the asteroid could not be observed completely and without disturbance.

(44530) Horáková was named on July 26, 2010 after the Czechoslovak resistance fighter and women's rights activist Milada Horáková .
