(5418) Joyce is an asteroid of the main belt , which was discovered on August 29, 1981 by the Czech astronomer Antonín Mrkos at the Kle Observ observatory ( observatory code 046) near Český Krumlov in southern Bohemia .
The asteroid was named after the Irish writer James Joyce (1882-1941), who is one of the most important representatives of literary modernism because of his works Dubliner , Ulysses and Finnegans Wake .
