(5552) Studnička is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on September 16, 1982 by the Czech astronomer Antonín Mrkos at the observatory on the Kleť .

At the suggestion of Jana Tichá and Martin Šolc, it was named on February 11, 1998 after František Josef Studnička , a mathematics professor and astronomer at Charles University in Prague .
