(595) Polyxena is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered by August Kopff in Heidelberg on March 27, 1906 . Its orbit shows only a slight eccentricity (e = 0.06) and is almost 18 degrees inclined towards the ecliptic . The object orbits the sun in 5.79 years.
The asteroid was named after Polyxena , a Trojan princess from Greek mythology.
