(664) Judith is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on June 24, 1908 by the German astronomer August Kopff in Heidelberg .
The asteroid is named after the biblical heroine Judith (see also: Book Judit ), whose story is thematized in the drama of the same name by Friedrich Hebbel .
