(7000) Curie is an asteroid of the main belt , of November 6, 1939 by the Belgian astronomers Fernand Rigaux on Observatoire royal de Belgique ( IAU code 012) in Ukkel was discovered.
The name of the asteroid was chosen in honor of the Polish physicist and Nobel Prize winner Marie Curie .
