(7016) Conan Doyle is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 30 December 1991 by Japanese amateur astronomers Takeshi Urata at Nihondaira Observatory ( IAU code 385) in Shizuoka Prefecture on the island of Honshu was discovered.
The asteroid was named after the British doctor and writer Arthur Conan Doyle (1859–1930), who portrayed the figure of the detective Sherlock Holmes and his friend Dr. Watson created.
