(7739) Čech is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on February 14, 1982 by the Czech astronomer Ladislav Brožek at the Kleť Observatory ( IAU code 688) near the town of Český Krumlov in southern Bohemia .

The asteroid was named on April 2, 1999 after the Czech mathematician Eduard Čech (1893-1960), whose main field was projective differential geometry .
