(98) Ianthe is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 18 April 1868 by the German-American astronomer Christian Heinrich Friedrich Peters was discovered.
The asteroid was named after Ianthe , one of the Oceanid daughters of the Titan Oceanus .
It belongs to the class of C asteroids.
