(9904) Mauratombelli is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on July 29, 1997 by the Italian astronomers Andrea Boattini and Luciano Tesi at the Osservatorio Astronomico della Montagna Pistoiese ( observatory code 104) in Tuscany .

The asteroid was named on January 6, 1999 after the Italian astronomer Maura Tombelli (* 1952).
