One of the oldest cave churches in Cappadocia is the Johanneskirche (also Anabapterkirche ), probably from the 5th century. After a rock collapse in 1963, only the apse end with the benches carved into the rock can be seen. The existing paintings are barely recognizable.

In the northern part of the village is the dovecote church (Çavuşin Güvercinlik Kilisesi) from the 11th century AD. In its broken narthex , frescoes of the archangels Michael and Gabriel can be seen. Inside the one-room church with barrel vaults and three apses there is a cycle of images from the New Testament. Based on a picture of the Byzantine emperor Nikephoros Phokas , the paintings can be dated to the 10th century. The church is laid out without columns. Next to the church there is an abandoned monastery with an associated tomb.

In the nearby Rose Valley (Güllüdere) you will find the Ayvalı Kilise (Church with the Quinces), a double church made up of a Katholikon (main church) and Parekklesion (side chapel), which are connected by a passage. Her paintings, including a Deësis and the Assumption, are heavily blackened. In the Red Valley (Kızıl Çukur) is the Haçlı Kilise, which shows a cross in the ceiling and extensive frescoes above the altar.

The Paşabağı Valley is home to some of the most frequently photographed tufa motifs. Among other things, the so-called triplets (tuff stones that split into three points at the top) or the local Jandarma station, which is also located in the tuff stone. It is on the way from Çavuşin to Zelve .
