The steam locomotive series kkStB 360 were Eilgüterzug - locomotives of the Imperial State Railways (kkStB), originally from the Austrian Northwest Railway (ÖNWB) and the South-North German Verbindungsbahn came (SNDVB).
The ÖNWB wanted to purchase locomotives that could move freight trains at 60 km / h and were also able to haul passenger and express trains. The Floridsdorf locomotive factory initially supplied eight compound machines (ÖNWB series XVIIb ) in 1901 and four wet steam locomotives (ÖNWB series XVIIa ) in 1902 . Since the compound machines proved their worth, a further eight of this type were purchased in 1904 .
As a further test types were 1,906 from the StEG locomotive factory as number XVIId machines designated the SNDVB numbered 286-288 delivered. The 286 was a wet steam engine, the other two had a Clench-Gölsdorf steam dryer installed. None of these types was pursued, since the superheated steam locomotives series XVIIc were ordered.
After the nationalization in 1909 , the kkStB designated rows XVIIa and XVIIb as row 360 with the numbers 01-04 and 11-26, the XVIId 286 as 360.100 and the XVIId 287 and 288 as 360.500 and 501 .
The 360.23 came to Italy after the First World War as FS 606 .001 , all other machines came to the BBÖ , which kept the designation. The BBÖ eliminated many machines in this series, including the 360.5.
The 360.01 and 02 came to ÖBB as 254.201 and 202 and were eliminated in 1953 and 1957 . The 360.15 and 21 came to Yugoslavia as JDŽ 136 -001 and 002 after the Second World War , the 360.17 and 19 formed the series 354 with the numbers 306 and 308 at ÖBB, which were retired in 1956 and 1958 .
