Öhringen main station is on the Crailsheim – Heilbronn railway line and belongs to station category 5. The station belongs to the network area of the H3NV and is the largest and most important station in the Hohenlohe district .
history
The station was opened in 1862. It used to be called Öhringen . For the 2008/2009 timetable change in December 2008, it was given the addition of a central station .

Since the Crailsheim – Heilbronn rail line is electrified from Öhringen-Cappel, the trains stopping at all stations are divided into two sections: In the Öhringen-Cappel – Heilbronn section, electric multiple units of the type GT8-100D / 2S-M and ET 2010 are used. This line is used by the Albtal-Verkehrs-Gesellschaft as an extension of the Karlsruhe or Heilbronn Stadtbahn .
On the other hand, diesel multiple units of the 642 series are used as regional express trains on the route Heilbronn Hbf - Crailsheim and as regional trains between Schwäbisch Hall-Hessental and Öhringen Hbf , operated by the Westfrankenbahn . As an extension of the RB 18 , a connection from Heilbronn to Öhringen and back in the morning is offered by Abellio Rail Baden-Württemberg with trains of the Bombardier Talent type .
