Łomnica-Zdrój is a village with a Schulzenamt of the municipality Piwniczna-Zdrój in the powiat Nowosądecki of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in Poland .

geography

The place is located at the confluence of the Łomniczanka brook in the Poprad in the Beskydy Mountains . The neighboring towns are the town of Piwniczna-Zdrój in the west, Kokuszka in the northwest, Złotne, Barnowiec and Składziste in the north, Wierchomla Wielka in the east, and Mníšek nad Popradom in Slovakia in the south.

history

The village already existed in 1348 and was mentioned in the founding privilege of the town of Piwniczna (Piwniczna-Zdrój) from that year. In 1570 the village of Lomnicza was re-established in another place under the privilege of King Sigismund II August , while the Łomnica Antiqua , later Majerz (nad Popradem), was located within the town of Piwniczna. The ethnic-Polish village in the Sącz district of the Kraków Voivodeship was on the western border of the Lemkenland , which began in the east behind Mount Kiczera in Wierchomla Wielka.

When Poland was first partitioned , Łomnica-Zdrój became part of the new Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria of the Habsburg Empire in 1772 (from 1804).

In 1918, after the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, Łomnica-Zdrój became part of the Second Polish Republic . During the Second World War it belonged to the Krakow district in the Generalgouvernement .

The small health resort developed after 1910. In 1924 a bathhouse was opened.

From 1975 to 1998 Łomnica-Zdrój was part of the Nowy Sącz Voivodeship .
