The Gmina Piwniczna-Zdrój (until the end of 1998 Gmina Piwniczna ) is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Nowosądecki of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in Poland . The seat is the spa town of the same name with around 5900 inhabitants.

history

From 1975 to 1998 the municipality belonged to the Nowy Sącz Voivodeship . On December 30, 1994, Gmina Rytro was spun off from the Piwniczna municipality.
