The rural community Łowicz [ ˈwɔvʲitʃ ] is an independent rural community (gmina wiejska) in the powiat Łowicz of the Łódź Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is in the city of Łowicz ( German Lowitsch ). The rural community, to which the city of Łowicz itself does not belong, has an area of ​​133.2 km², on which (as of June 30, 2019) 7689 people live.

geography

The rural community is located in the Masovian Plain, northeast of Łódź and about 80 km southwest of Warsaw . 83% of the municipal area is used for agriculture, 8% is covered with forest.

history

Until 1953, the rural community was called Gmina Dąbkowice , 1953–1954 Gmina Jamno . From 1975 to 1998 the rural community belonged to the Skierniewice Voivodeship .

The rural municipality of Łowicz consists of the following 26 localities with school administration offices: Bocheń, Dąbkowice Dolne , Dąbkowice Górne, Guźnia, Jamno , Jastrzębia, Klewków, Małszyce, Mystkowice, Niedźwiada, Ostrkowice, Niedźwiada, Ostrczków, OtolŚwiada, Szwczcłów, Szwczłice, Szwczłów, Szwczłów, Dolne , Strczudczłów, Dolne , Dąbkowice Górne , Pilaszcłów , Świeryż Pierwszy, Świeryż Drugi, Wygoda, Zabostów Duży, Zabostów Mały, Zawady and Zielkowice.

Other localities are: Mystkowice Małe, Parcela, Podbielnia and Urbańszczyzna.
