Roman Empire
Fourth extension of the imperium proconsulare of Augustus for another 10 years. The imperium proconsulare was one of the central instruments of rule of Augustus and his successors (supreme authority over the legions stationed in the endangered provinces), but was never awarded to Princeeps Augustus for life, but only extended by the Senate: 18 and 13 BC. By 5 years, 8 BC. As well as 3 and 13 AD by 10 years. Only Tiberius received the imperium proconsulare on August 19, 14 AD for life.
