(11042) Ernst Weber is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 3 November 1989 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory ( IAU code 809) of the European Southern Observatory in Chile was discovered.
The asteroid was named after the German physiologist and anatomist Ernst Heinrich Weber (1795–1878), who made important investigations into the mechanics of walking as well as the pressure, temperature and spatial sense and, together with Gustav Theodor Fechner, was one of the founders of psychophysics .
