(11341) Babbage is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 3 December 1996 by the Italian-American astronomer Paul G. Comba at Prescott Observatory was discovered.
It was named in honor of the English mathematician and inventor Charles Babbage , who created the forerunner of the modern computer with his design of the mechanical calculating machine Analytical Engine .
