(12272) Geddylee is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 22 September 1990 by the American astronomer Brian P. Roman at Palomar Observatory ( IAU code 675) in California was discovered.
The asteroid is named after the Canadian bassist , keyboardist and singer Geddy Lee (* 1953) of the rock band Rush, who, together with his bandmates Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart, was the first rock musician to be appointed Officer of the Order of Canada in 1996.
