(13121) Tisza is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 7 February 1994 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory ( IAU code 809) of the European Southern Observatory in Chile was discovered.

The asteroid was named on July 26, 2000 after the Hungarian name of the Tisza , the longest tributary of the Danube at 966 kilometers . It arises in the Forest Carpathians of the Ukraine , flows through Hungary and Serbia and flows into the Danube below Novi Sad .
