(16807) Terasako is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 12 October 1997 by the Japanese astronomer Akimasa Nakamura at Kuma-Kōgen Observatory ( IAU code 360) in the small town Kumakogen in the Japanese prefecture of Ehime was discovered.

The asteroid was named on August 4, 2001 after the Japanese amateur astronomer Masanori Terasako (* 1951), who has been searching for comets using optical means since 1971 and who discovered comet C / 1987 B2 (Terasako) after 1,374 search hours in 1987 .
