(1799) Koussevitzky is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 25 July 1950 by astronomers of the Indiana Asteroid Program at Goethe Link Observatory in Brooklyn in the State of Indiana was discovered.

The asteroid is named after the Russian- born Jewish conductor Sergei A. Kusewizki .
