(1841) Masaryk is an asteroid of the outer main belt that was discovered on October 26, 1971 by the Czech astronomer Luboš Kohoutek at the Hamburg-Bergedorf observatory ( IAU code 029) in Hamburg .

The asteroid is named after the Czech philosopher and writer Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk (1850-1937), who co-founded and was the first president of Czechoslovakia from 1918 to 1935 .
