(18520) Wolfratshausen is an asteroid of the main belt , the November 6, 1996 by Japanese amateur astronomers Naoto Satō at his private observatory ( IAU code 369) in Chichibu was discovered.

The asteroid was named after the city ​​of Wolfratshausen in Upper Bavaria on July 26, 2010 , and was "given" to it by its Japanese partner city Iruma on the occasion of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the city elevation.
