(192) Nausicaa is an asteroid of the main asteroid belt discovered by Johann Palisa on February 17, 1879 .

The heavenly bodies after was named Nausicaa , daughter of Phaiakians -Königs Alkinoos after the Greek mythology as a young girl Odysseus after his flight from the island of Calypso on the beach of Scheria found and led the castaways to their parents.

Nausicaa moves at a distance of 1.8 ( perihelion ) to 3.0 ( aphelion ) astronomical units in 3.7 years around the sun . The orbit is inclined 6.8 ° to the ecliptic , the orbital eccentricity is 0.25.

Nausicaa has an average diameter of about 99 kilometers. It has a light, silicate-containing surface with an albedo of 0.33. It rotates around its own axis in around 13.6 hours.
Nausicaa may be accompanied by a natural satellite .
