(197189) Raymond is an asteroid of the main outer belt that was found on October 19, 2003 as part of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey at the 2.5-meter Ritchey-Chrétien reflector of the Apache Point Observatory ( IAU code 645) in New Mexico was discovered.
The asteroid was named on November 17, 2013 after the Irish - American astronomer Sean N. Raymond .
