(2002) Euler is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on August 29, 1973 by the Russian astronomer Tamara Mikhailovna Smirnova at the Crimean Observatory in Nautschnyj .
It was named after the Swiss mathematician and physicist Leonhard Euler .
