(2451) Dollfus is an asteroid of the main belt , which on September 2, 1980 by the American astronomer Edward LG Bowell at the Anderson Mesa Station ( IAU code 688) of the Lowell Observatory in Coconino County was discovered.
The asteroid was named after the French astronomer Audouin Dollfus . The employee of the Paris observatory in Meudon discovered the Saturn moon Janus on December 15, 1966 .
